Eastern Region Football Association has unveiled H. Adams Wholesalers as the sponsor of Division One League to the tune of 15.3 million kwacha for a year.

H. Adams Wholesalers, who already sponsor the Eastern Region Premier Division Football League under the banner Durata Premier Division League with 26 million Kwacha, expressed satisfaction with the professional administration of the association as the reason to sponsor the Division One League.

Regional Sales Manager for H. Adams, Oster Banda, said he hopes that through this sponsorship, Durata batteries will be given maximum visibility and promotion as a brand.

He said, “We have a huge customer base for Durata batteries as a brand. Many brands have come and gone, but our brand is long lasting, and we hope football fans will enjoy the game through our brand by also observing principles of fairness, integrity, and respect across the leagues”.

While revelling in the adulation for securing two sponsorship packages for both leagues in a short space of time after being elected, Vice Chairman for the ERFA, Isaiah Ibrahim, promised financial prudence in the administration of the sponsorship package by following principles of accountability and transparency.

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) Vice President, Madalitso Kuyera, who graced the signing ceremony, was delighted and grateful to the sponsor for the support towards the development of football in the region and promised capacity building trainings to all stakeholders of the game in the region.

“It is commendable that the association has effectively utilised its resource mobilisation team to secure sponsorship for both leagues. As FAM, we are committed to supporting this initiative by providing capacity-building training for referees, coaches, and all other stakeholders, in order to foster the development of football in the region,” Kuyera said.

Sixteen teams are expected to compete in the Durata Division One League, which kicks off on 31st May, 2025. This means both the Premiere Division and Division One Leagues will kick of on the same day.
