Durata Premier Division League launch date shifted

Eastern Region Football Association (ERFA) has announced a change of the date for the launch of the Durata Premier Division League, which was scheduled for 19th April 2025 to 31st May 2025.

Chairperson for the association, Abdul Chiwalo, said the change was necessary to allow more time for the association to prepare effectively for the rolling out of the league.

He said, “Since Eastern Region Football Association is a virgin association, the initial date for the launch of the league came too soon for all logistics to be put in place, hence the need to reschedule”.

The association was recently elected with a mandate to administer and develop football in the region and conveniently, six months after the election, secured a 26 million Kwacha sponsorship from H. Adams under the banner of Durata Premier Division League.

The venue for the launch remains Balaka Stadium.

Twelve teams from Mangochi, Phalombe, Machinga, Zomba, and Balaka will battle for points within the region.
